The Yankees and Mets are worlds apart in terms of outlook Bobby Ryan Jersey this season, but Friday night, they found themselves in the same place — Citi Field, where the Yankees kicked off a three-game Subway Series with a 4-1 victory over their crosstown http://www.officialottawasenators.com/Adidas-Bobby-Ryan-Jersey rivals.
Home runs by Giancarlo Stanton and Brett Gardner powered the Yankees, who have baseball’s best record at 41-18. There is some cause for concern in the Yankees’ clubhouse, however, as Aaron Judge jammed his left thumb sliding in the first inning. He stayed in the game. The team will http://www.authenticssharkstore.com/authentic-42-joel-ward-jersey.html have an update Saturday.
Cardinals (34-27) at Reds (22-42) 4:10 p.m. ET — Michael Wacha gets the start for the Cardinals. He’s an early Cy Young contender (7-1, 2.41 ERA, 1.10 WHIP) and is a big reason the Cardinals are knocking on the door in the NL Central.
This would be beyond bad, not just for Ohtani and the Angels, but for baseball fans everywhere who have enjoyed and marveled at the historic nature of Ohtani’s rookie season. Now, it appears, that marvel will be put on hold for a long time. There would be no more dominant Ohtani outings on the mound in 2018, no more eye-popping home runs, no chance of Ohtani doing his thing before a national audience in the All-Star Game next month. Make no mistake: This would be a devasting blow for baseball, no matter how short-lived it may be. (Update: Angels GM Billy Eppler says the report about Ohtani needing Tommy John surgery is inaccurate and that there has been no change in diagnosis since last week.)
Ohtani is a special player, the likes of which we’ve not seen in more than a century. He’s a legitimate two-way superstar with the ability to make hitters look foolish with 100 mph fastballs and nasty breaking pitches, while also driving balls deep into the seats as a designated hitter. As I’ve written before, he’s the real deal, Joel Ward Jersey and what he’s done in 2018 is truly historic and potentially sport-changing.
As MLB and its leadership look for ways to make the game more exciting and more appealing to a younger audience, Ohtani seemed like at least a partial antidote, doing things that had long been assumed to be unworkable in the modern game.
